Elizabeth Buhler, believed to be Canada's oldest living person, died on January 24, 2011 two weeks from her 112th birthday. Sum Ying Fung, a Vancouver resident, may now be the oldest living Canadian. Sum Ying Fung celebrated her 112 year old birthday Thursday January 27, 2011.

It is interesting that both ladies were Capricorns. According to Taiwan’s Bureau of National Health Insurance, Tseng Wen-fu, BNHI head of medical review says on average Capricorns lived 74.53 years. Aquarius could expect to live 74.46 years and Libras, 74.46.  Those least likely to commit suicide or to be killed in accidents or murdered are the Aquarius (8.74%), Capricorns (8.76%) and Pisces (9.04%).

Capricorns are very independent. Capricorns are very ambitious people, they always have something they are pursuing and they want their lives to be fulfilled and important. Capricorns like being in control of their surroundings and everyone in their life. Capricorns are very punctual and live by a schedule and they do not like to be kept waiting, it shows irresponsibility. I guess these Capricorn traits make for a good long life.

Also, it is interesting that both ladies were Earth Dog in the Chinese Zodiac.  Elizabeth Buhler was born in Ukraine on February 8, 1899. Sum Ying Fung was born in China January 27, 1899.
